What is automatic login?
Automatic login allows the operating system to sign in a user automatically
when the computer starts or restarts, without asking for a username or password.
Once enabled, the system will be ready to use immediately after boot.
Why use automatic login?
Automatic login is commonly used for:
- Remote access scenarios
- Headless or unattended computers
- Home servers
- Devices that must be available after reboot
- Wake-on-LAN setups
- Systems controlled remotely by another device
When is automatic login recommended?
Automatic login makes sense if:
- You need access to the system without physical interaction
- The device must recover automatically after a reboot or power loss
- The computer is located in a secure, private environment
- Convenience is more important than physical security
